Learn to Ski and Snowboard

Start the year active by spending more time outdoors. January is the perfect time to learn a new winter sport or improve the skills you already have.

The Learn to Ski and Snowboard Initiative

The national initiative Learn to Ski and Snowboard encourages individuals to learn how to ski and/or snowboard by taking lessons from a professional instructor.

NYS governor Andrew Cuomo, along with 15 others, proclaimed January for this health initiative that has since become known and supported by various national, regional, and state associations.

Today, more than 300 ski and snowboard areas throughout the U.S. offer free or reasonably priced lesson programs through the month or event the entire ski season as part of this initiative to get more Americans physically active on the slopes.
