Details on Vigils for the Orlando Shooting Happening Around NYC

In the wake of today's tragedy in Orlando, Apicha CHC understands the need to come together.    We've put together a list of vigils happening across NYC.  We'll update this list as we become aware of more events.   

Jackson Heights, Queens:

Who:  NYC Council Member Daniel Dromm; SUKHI NY President Agha Saleh; Elected officials; Muslim and LGBT community activists, community leaders

What:   Elected Officials, LGBT and Muslim community leaders will gather at Jackson Heights' Diversity Plaza to denounce violence in all its forms and pay their respects to the victims of the Orlando terror attack.

When:  Sunday, June 12th at 7:30 pm

Where: Diversity Plaza, 37th Road between 73rd and 74th Streets in Jackson Heights, Queens.
 

 

Lower Manhattan: 

Who:  A coalition of local churches.

What:  An Interfaith Prayer Vigil

When:   Sunday, June 12th at 7:00 pm

Where: Judson Memorial Church, NYU, 55 Washington Square S. 

 

Staten Island: 

When:  Sunday, June 12th at 8:00 pm

Where: Staten Island Borough Hall 

 

Stonewall Inn: 

Who:  Stonewall Democrats 

What:  We will stand together to tell hate that it has no place in our country and to remember the 50+ LGBTQA people that were killed at the hands of such senseless violence.

When:  Monday, June 13th at 7:00 - 9:00 pm

Where: The Stonewall Inn, 53 Christopher Street in Manhattan.
